Trinity Is Good

The big takeaway from Saturday’s game is simple: Trinity is an excellent, veteran football team. It’s hard to find a weakness in any phase of their game. In spite of the rainy conditions, senior QB Spencer Fetter threw accurately all day. His receivers hardly dropped a ball. Defensively, Trinity adjusted to Williams throwing the ball and made stops when they had to. The Bantams earned their victory.

Ephs Started Well

Williams came out throwing the ball and executed cripsly. The first drive included several good throws and several good scrambles from freshman QB Owen McHugh. When McHugh found freshman Brady Stahelski in the back of the end zone for a 26-yard completion, the Ephs went up 7-0.

As the Bantams tried to respond, sophomore DB Justice McGrail read the route, tipped the ball to himself and made a diving interception. McGrail now leads the Ephs with three picks on the year.

2nd Half, 2nd Teams

With Trinity firmly in control by four touchdowns at halftime, the 3rd and 4th quarters provided valuable playing time for a number of young Ephs. Notable freshman performers, in addition to McHugh and Stahelski, included linebacker Nathan Rodi with five tackles and running back Luke Thorbahn with 7 carries for 24 yards. Freshmen Nate Dlugos, Wyatt Cotton, Leonardo Maiuolo and Calvin Pedatella all logged minutes and tackles for Williams.
