When It Rains, It Doesn’t Pour

Both teams offenses were stymied by very wet conditions throughout the game. That partly explained the low-scoring contest.

Exemplary Eph Effort

On offense and on defense, Williams played with grit and energy for 60 straight minutes. While the stands were nearly empty the second half, the Ephs scratched out a lead and held it for much of the period. Junior Mario Fischetti gained 119 yards rushing before leaving the game just before halftime while Jon Oris netted 77 yards on the day. Fischetti watched the rest of the game on crutches with ice on the side of his knee. Meanwhile, the defense combined for 4 interceptions on the day by George Papadopoulos, Justice McGrail, James Hemmer and Wyatt Cotton.

Panther Passing Prowess

Middlebury’s senior QB Cole Kennon threw 4 interceptions on the day but was remarkably accurate otherwise, given the conditions. His best receivers, senior Donovan Wood and junior Patrick Jamin, caught 10 balls for 126 yards—just enough to squeak out the win for the Panthers.
